Bringing Music to Poly

Education Solution by Marc S on October 6, 2011 at 11:05 AM

They love playing instruments, singing, and there's others who even want to learn how to play new instruments or how to sing. However, the problem at Poly is that there is nothing music related here. They only option we have for playing instruments is to join the band, but that is all the way in Tempe, and it involves a long commute, and hours of commitment many of us don't have.

My solution for this is to create a small music program here at Poly. We could have local music instructors or tutors have appointment slots where they can come it. Students would be able to sign up for those slots for a couple of times a week. Then we can have a place where they meet with instruments like pianos, guitars etc. where the teachers give lessons to the students. We could also have vocal coaches for students who would like to learn how to sing, or want singing practice.
This solution would bring back music for us musically inclined people. It would also relieve stress with student's passions.
