Eco Art---October Challenge Question
"How can we sustain an appreciation for the arts in a community with limited resources?"
Sun Devils for Wildlife Conservation found a way to combine this goal with something our organization is extremely passionate about: the environment. Although ASU and the city of Phoenix have a nifty recycling program, there is still a lot of cleaning up to do. By collecting and reusing trash and recyclables, our aim is to turn waste into art. By students building sculptures from these materials, we can sell them to community members at an on-campus art festival, where 100% of proceeds goes toward funding art education in Title 1 schools and low-income areas in Phoenix and its surrounding communities.
