Fairness Both Ways a Marriage Solution
Marriage traditionally is thought to be between man and a woman, and has been set up as such by the the church, later institutionalized and legalized by government. It is increasingly recognized that same sex unions are made and sustained just as the traditional marriage, but not recognized in all states as legal.
The legal system is challenged by this and has not been able to uniformly resolve the issue of whether to grant marriage and thus equal rights to same sex couples.
The idea presented here is that government, instead of wrestling with the notion of whether to grant equal rights to same sex couples by legalizing such marriages, should abolish its role in issuing marriage licenses to heterosexual couples and recognize civil union for all couples. EQUAL RIGHTS! End the governments role in establishing marriage. Remove marriage laws, grant equal rights by recognizing all civil unions, end the controversy, ease government.
