GPS: Go Phoenix Sustainability!
In Phoenix, the environment could benefit greatly from more people using public transportation rather than cars. GPS: Go Phoenix Sustainability! advocates for placing GPS locators on the public transportation systems in Phoenix so Valley residents can track the location of their next ride. Tracking would be done online and people could access the location of their ride via the internet. If it was easier for people to know when to expect public transportation at a stop near them, they would probably be more likely to use it. This would increase efficiency in the lives of Phoenix residents because they would have to spend less time at the light rail or bus stops. It could also potentially decrease the pollution in the valley and increase healthy habits by encouraging more people to walk to and from the bus and light rail stops. As a Valley resident who uses public transportation frequently, I think I could help make this solution happen.
