Greener Education
The amount of food that is wasted in America each day is a egregious. Every day schools throw away thousands of pounds of food waste. This is currently the message that we are sending to our children and I believe it's time to break the cycle. I suggest that instead of disposing this waste into public land fills we set up compost bins and teach the students the value of being greener. I believe that each public school should have a garden tended by the students. This will allow the children to understand the value of food and the benefits of recycling. The benefits for the schools are bountiful. This would lower the amount of waste into our landfills and cut food costs. I am of the opinion that all schools need to become self sustaining. This is just one step in that direction.
