One Shot Can Save Two Lives

Health Solution by Tyler E on August 25, 2011 at 5:06 PM

My idea is a bunch of college students in ripped up jeans can save the world by asking one question: have you had your one shot? If you are not quite sure how to answer that yet, let me explain.

In my opinion, the best medicine is not getting sick in the first place. This is most easily seen in epidemic areas like the meningitis belt of Africa where one 44 cent vaccination can save a rural family from astronomical hospital bills... or worse.

My solution? ONEshot Global. ONEshot is a nonprofit organization that seeks to provide meningitis vaccinations to college students through community partnerships. For every single vaccine we provide in the US, ONEshot will donate a vaccine to the meningitis belt of Africa. One shot can save two lives. One saves two. It's that easy.

Good concept. Despite the limited space, I want a mention of the funding source. Maybe he mentions it in the video, or I could find out by going to the website--but funding is a major question with many good ideas, and before I'm going devote more time (listening to the video will take me a minute, but reading the text only takes 7 seconds) I need to know this.
