politics and social media

Technology Solution by Mandy B on October 5, 2012 at 10:15 PM

As a 20 something, I feel like politicians don't address the concerns of our generation, or seem to care how their actions will effect us in the long term, but someone who connects with our generation may not get the backing for campaigns. then I thought about social media, in theory, with enough diligence, could someone successfully campaign via facebook, twitter, and other such types of media? Imagine a politician saying what he actually believed to be right, and not having to worry about his campaign supporters!

Watch this site during upcoming campaigns. I totally agree with you on your concerns. The problem is with the lack of integrity and authenticity in politics...this is an age-old problem that pre-dates social media and the transparency that comes with it. I am amazed that some politicians can completely contradict themselves over and over again and have it be captured on video and yet still deny it. The culture of politics has always been to say whatever is necessary to say to please the constituent in front of them at any given time. The wishy-washy nature of politics of old needs to die off and learn integrity. http://www.americanselect.org
