The Quanta Foundation, LLC
Based in Phoenix, The Quanta Foundation LLC is student initiative started in 2011 that creates an interactive community of high school students, college mentors, and faculty affiliates through collaborative projects that encourage science communication. These research projects are intended to catalyze a passion within each student for pertinent science research within one’s own community. These projects simultaneously serve as a bridge between high school and college to increase the college-going culture within Arizona.
As a nationally scalable and sustainable venture, The Quanta Foundation intends to improve the quality of scientific understanding and college preparedness among high school students across the U.S
I would have loved to have an opportunity like this when I was in high school. Can't wait to see where Quanta goes!
The Quanta fills a need in public and private education to link students with developing interests in the sciences with the resources that will make them successful students and engage them in current research that will excite them for the future of science.
A single research experience at the beginning of college kick-started my four years at ASU by connecting me to new ideas, faculty, and research projects.
As a solution that would create similar opportunities for high school students in Arizona, the Quanta seems highly deserving of continued university support.
I think high school students really need a way to connect with their local university, and this provides a great opportunity for them to do so! I wish I had had something like this when I was in high school.
Being in the education field, I fully support a solution that seeks to give real answers to the issues we're facing in educating kids in Arizona.
