At universities we switch from computer to computer more than we switch shoes. The boring computer backgrounds and settings, make it mundane to log on to any school computer. My solution to creating a better more fulfilling experience of being on a school computer is to have the computer load settings the student sets to customize their computing experience. Specific backgrounds, animated icons, themed browsers, voices and sounds that guide them through their computing experience. That would make the students computing experience as pleasurable as possible and encourage students to stay on and complete homework.
