Stop Discrimination of Mental Illness and Disability
More often than not, people with mental illnesses and disabilities are looked down upon and shunned by others. My idea would be to create higher living standards and less discrimination for these types of people. Unfortunately, people may go through programs and even end up homeless after they are discharged. A facility could be opened that would teach people to live independently with their illness and disability, and realize it is NOT a disease. This facility could also educate the community and teach them to be more accepting in public places such as school and work.
By educating the public and teaching people affected how to live independently, it would greatly increase their confidence levels and reduce the level of homeless clients, thus making the community better for everyone.
