Tax Credit to Private Employers that hire for Public Works Repair

Economy Solution by Connie O on January 8, 2012 at 5:10 PM

Our infrastructure needs repair. Our people need jobs, and many need training. Unemployment payments are a financial drain and are often demoralizing for recipients as they are a reminder that nothing in their life has changed for the better. Shift the payment of money out of the welfare coffers to tax credits for private businesses that hire and, if needed, train the unemployed, then hire those private companies on a preferential basis to work on public works projects. The newly-hired workers will support the economy through their spending and taxes, our economy will improve, and our infrastructure will be repaired.
