TUFASU: Integrating University and Local Independent Music Communities

TUFASU is a student organization whose purpose is to promote the independent music and art by connecting ASU students and the creative people/organizations of the surrounding scene through event planning and promotion.
The Tempe music and arts scenes were once vibrant and fertile cultural staples of the city and university--there were successful venues on Mill Avenue and regular house shows (local and touring acts performing in community-members' living rooms) held every weekend. Art was available for purchase in the local galleries and shops on Mill. That era has long-since passed; Mill is populated with bros, and the Venues have either shut down or turned into bars.
Activity in the the arts and music community all but came to a standstill, save for a few dedicated members of the scene (e.g. TSA, Walking Stick, etc.).

TUFASU brought the resources and manpower of students from across the country to the Tempe Music Scene to revive the community. To this end, we have been successful
