World Mirror:

World Mirror is a group of dedicated engineering students looking to change the way cultures interact with one another. Our goal is to promote social technology that will allow people to subconsciously learn and familiarize with other third world countries and cultures. By merging technology and innovative social strategies, we are aiming to create virtual windows for people to connect with vastly different regions.

The World Mirror involves an interactive touch screen that is geared with HD live streaming video cameras. These screens will be built in pairs and will be housed in major metropolitan cities—one example could include a site in downtown Phoenix and Ginza Tokyo, Japan. The idea is that people traveling through these high-density commuter areas will have the opportunity to observe and experience aspects of another culture on a daily basis. People will have the opportunity to perceive and interact with a normally unattainable foreign culture.
